Story
In March 2024 I'll be walking (and sometimes running) to cover a total of an average of 10,000 steps a day for Beds Prostate Cancer Support Group.
I'm doing this because Mick Harford, a big name among Luton Town supporters, is a legend to me. A few years ago, when he was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer, the Trust picked Beds Prostate Cancer Support Group as their charity.
Proudly, my mum (June Adamson), who coordinates charity work for the Trust, introduced the charity to Mick, who became their supporter.
She will also be doing the challenge at 5000 steps a day.
Now, it's my turn to help out. I want to raise money and let more people know about Beds Prostate Cancer Support Group.
It's not just for Mick; it's also for Nick Owen, and of course, for the charity itself who lost their chairman Brian Webb a year ago.
The charity increase awareness of prostate cancer for men of all ages supporting local men and families, and run PSA testing events to help men get an early diagnosis and help save lives. Prostate cancer affects 1 in 8 men in the UK. An early diagnosis can save your life.
And it's a bit personal too—I want to support my mum as the Luton Town Supporters’ Trust Charity Coordinator, and I see this as a chance to kickstart my own health. The pandemic made me neglect it, and now I want to change that.
So, I hope you'll support me in this. Your help means a lot.
