Story
With all of your incredible support, last year I raised just under £700 for Architects Benevolent Society (ABS) making me the highest individual fundraiser for the 2023 run and this year I want to beat that target!
Read more about my story and why ABS is so important to me:
In November 2022, my partner of 5 years passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. Shortly after his death, in January 2023 my friend and colleague was killed in a road traffic incident.
Dealing with the complexity of losing two people in unexpected circumstances in a very short space of time has been extremely difficult, and it is still something I struggle with day to day more than one year on...
I'm beyond grateful for the support that ABS has provided to my practice (New Practice), and to me personally. They have provided me with the opportunity to access bespoke and in-person bereavement counselling which has been instrumental in helping me process and cope with the overwhelming grief of two untimely deaths.
Taking part in last year’s Chicken Run was an empowering event that not only helped me to raise money for ABS to allow them to continue doing their important work, but also created a moment of shared joy and community for myself and friends old and new from across the profession.
I understand how difficult it can be to reach out for support, especially as it may be the first time you are acknowledging you may need some help, but I would encourage people to make that first step and perhaps ABS can help you to do so...
ABS need your support... please support me to raise money through The ABS Chicken Run 2024. Every penny counts, and it would mean so much to me... if anything, please sign up to their newsletter and stay up to date with their latest news, campaigns and fundraising appeals.
Thank you x
