London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 · Start fundraising for this event
We are fundraising for Brain Tumour Research as they are the only national charity dedicated to funding long-term, sustainable research in the UK.
It costs £2740 to fund 1 days research so we hope to raise enough to fund 7 days (or many more if possible!)
In April this year, I was diagnosed with terminal Glioblastoma Multiforme.
To say this was a devastating diagnosis for me, my family and my friends friends is an understatement.
I have had a craniotomy to get rid of one of the tumours, which was successful, I have completed Radiotherapy and continue with Chemotherapy to keep it at bay. On Thursday 7th November I had the results of my latest MRI, it showed no residual tumours!! It would appear I was right, I have run it off... I also learnt that my tumour (having been retested) is actually methylated meaning chemo can and will continue to have an impact controlling it.
I know how lucky I am and continue to be, I know not everyone has the same journey as me and so, here I am doing my bit to support the vital research needed to hopefully one day finding a cure.
I along with the team will be taking part multiple events across the next year (Bath Half Marathon and London Marathon) to raise as much as we possibly can for teh charity whoch has provided my family with excellent support and information throughout this journey. We all appreciate each and every one of you who support us along the way.
