Story
Ever since the Goodison Sleepout event began, I’ve always wanted to take part. In the past, I’ve been able to donate to this important cause, but I’ve always wanted to do more and truly participate. Unfortunately, I could never find anyone to join me, and I didn’t want to face the experience alone.
In a way, that’s quite fitting. Many people struggling with homelessness are alone, and they depend on organisations like Everton in the Community (EitC) for vital support. This year, being the last chance to take part at Goodison, it feels like the perfect time for me to grow some and get involved. Plus, considering our football often puts me to sleep on weekends, there’s probably no better occasion!
Joking aside, this is a serious issue. I’m asking for my friends and family support to help EitC raise awareness and much-needed funds to tackle homelessness. At least 271,000 people are recorded as homeless in England, including 123,000 children. With private rents and living costs continuing to soar, thousands of people aren’t just facing a winter of uncertainty—they are at risk of losing the roof over their heads.
Please consider donating and supporting this crucial cause. Every little bit helps make a difference.
