Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am embarking on a journey to walk the 96 miles of the West Highland Way, from Milngavie near Glasgow to Fort William over 3 days, starting Friday, September 6th. Following this, I'll be running the Frankfurt Marathon on October 27th, all in support of Cornerstone.
Last year's successful fundraising efforts with Cornerstone inspired me to take on these challenges once again. Established in Northeast Scotland in 1980, Cornerstone provides vital support to individuals with diverse needs such as physical and learning disabilities, autism, and dementia. Their tailored care packages enable people with complex needs to live their best lives.
My younger brother Shaun was supported by Cornerstone for a decade until his sad and sudden passing in 2021. The transformation we witnessed in him was remarkable - from needing significant support as a kid to becoming a confident and independent young man, a huge parts of that due to the exceptional care provided by Cornerstone. His lively spirit and infectious laughter touched many lives. Anyone that knew Shaun, will testify to him being the life and soul of the party, talking to everyone and anyone, still just as cheeky as when he was a kid. Always laughing and smiling and winding someone up.
If I can raise funds to help Cornerstone continue their invaluable work and provide support like they did for Shaun, and continue to do for many others, it would mean everything. Your support, no matter how small, would be truly amazing and deeply appreciated. Donating through JustGiving is secure and efficient, ensuring that your contribution directly benefits the charity.
