Fundraising for Gold Standard Charitable Trust
I’m excited (and a bit nervous) to lace up my running shoes and represent St. Anthony’s School in the Gold Standard Charitable Trust’s London Landmarks Half Marathon campaign. Our goal is to raise £50,000—enough to fund two full bursaries for deserving students.
Picture this: my son, Joshua, comes home one day, eyes wide with excitement, and asks, “Dad, will you do a run for the school?” I thought, “Sure, why not?” Then, before I could catch my breath, Liam jumps on the bandwagon, and suddenly it’s a done deal. Little did I know, this wasn’t just a casual jog—it’s a major event with multiple schools involved. Now, I’m expected to not only participate but to also run a ridiculously fast time! No pressure, right?
I believe every child deserves the chance to thrive in an excellent school environment, regardless of their family’s financial situation. Bursaries don’t just change the lives of the students who receive them—they enrich our entire school community by fostering diversity and opportunity. The Trust is already supporting 38 pupils with full or large bursaries this year, relying entirely on fundraising events like this one to continue their vital work.
I’m joining 13 runners across 9 schools, representing 3,000 families, to achieve this ambitious goal. As part of this team, I’m counting on the incredible St. Anthony’s community to rally behind this effort.
Every donation—big or small—goes directly to the Trust to fund bursaries and provide life-changing opportunities for talented young people.
Let’s also bring some friendly competition to the mix—let’s show what St. Anthony’s can do and lead the way amongst our participating schools!
Please donate today to help make a tangible difference. Thank you for your generosity and support!
