Story
I wanted to tell you about why i am running in this event, i want to make people more aware of Huntingtons disease. Huntington's disease is a condition that damages nerve cells in the brain causing them to stop working properly. It's passed on (inherited) from a person's parents. The damage to the brain gets worse over time. It can affect movement, cognition (perception, awareness, thinking, judgement) and mental health.
It’s close to my heart, our family lost Sarah, my big sister back in 2016 to this horrendous illness and now her son (my nephew) has also been diagnosed with it.
So please, family, friends and colleagues, help me raise more awareness of this and share on your pages and help me raise as much as possible.
The Huntington's Disease Association supports anyone who is affected by Huntington's disease across England and Wales. We pursue the best possible care; provide training & advice to families and professionals; raise awareness, and promote research towards better treatment and care.
