Maple Leaf Fundraiser to Support STOP3000

During the month of September, Stop Foodborne Illness challenges our constituents, their friends and families, and our donors to take 3,000 steps each day - every day - to honor the 3,000 lives lost each year to foodborne illness in the U.S.

Story

Stop Foodborne Illness, or STOP, is a non-profit public health organization who is committed to preventing illness and death from foodborne pathogens through education, advocacy, and support. With the help of compassionate individuals like you, we can continue to raise awareness about food safety and work towards eliminating foodborne illnesses in our communities.

Maple Leaf Food has a partnership with STOP Alliance to develop tools to help deliver the “Why?” of food safety

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that 3000 people die from foodborne illness annually.

In recognition of the annual Food Safety Education Month, Stop Foodborne Illness (STOP) has organized a fundraiser called STOP3000.

The goal this year is to raise funds to support STOP's mission and vision to STOP3000 people from losing their lives to illness from a foodborne pathogen.
