My husband Darren was lucky enough to receive a life saving heart transplant on 7th December 2023, after 7 years of serious heart issues.

Thanks to the amazing donor, and incredible treatment and care at Royal Papworth hospital, he was back home in just 13 days.

Darren is now regaining his fitness and wanting to raise awareness of the incredible work Papworth do, and the impact they have on so many lives.

He has set himself the challenge of completing Run Norwich, a 10k race which he last completed in 2017, just months before he was diagnosed with his heart condition.

With increasing pressures on the NHS, the Charity plays a vital role in ensuring that the Hospital continues to provide the highest standards of care by investing in staff development, improving the Hospital environment for our patients and supporting research into new ways of treating heart and lung disease.
