Story
I like to take part in Immerse Hebrides annual Chilly Challenge but this year I'm taking my challenge to the max!
This year I have taken on the 'Shark' challenge and unlike previous challenges this is not about distance but about frequency ... here are the rules:
Swim or dip FIVE times per week from 1st November 2024 until 31st March 2025. Each swim must be undertaken outdoors in water temperatures of 10 degrees celsius or below. Distance or time is not relevant here and you can wear any swim attire you like, wetsuit or swimwear.
For my part I will do this challenge without a wetsuit and in total it will mean that I will swim/dip 105 times this winter and probably mainly here in Harris ... saves me having to carry a thermometer as it will always be below 10 through the winter!
I am raising funds for 4 charities important to me personally, this page is raising funds for the RNLI. We are very lucky to have the dedicated volunteer team at Leverburgh RNLI and they will always need valuable funding to support their work.
Too many people are still drowning. More than ever we need the RNLI’s help. As a charity, the RNLI depends on our donations so it can go on saving lives and keeping us and our loved ones safe.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
The Chilly Challenge takes place between November and March each year, with entry fees being donated to local cancer charities.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
