Story
On Saturday the 12th of October 2024 I have traveled with Team Muscular Dystrophy UK to Tanzania to trek to the top of the highest African mountain, Kilimanjaro 5895m with my amazing friend Alicja Gilarska. It was once in a life adventure, very challenging on many occasions with lack of sleep in a high altitude, abnormal breathing or endless hours of terrain walking in very cold temperatures of up to -15’C. However, as a team we got through it together and hopefully we have made friends for life.
For many years our family has been living with the hope of finding a cure for Muscular Dystrophy Ullrich that our daughter Amelie has been diagnosed over 7 years ago. Hopefully this day will come very soon🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼Amelie certainly hasn't given up and she fights against her weak muscles every single day.
From the bottom of my heart I would like to say a massive 'Thank you for every penny donated!!! ❤️🧡❤️🧡❤️🧡❤️🧡❤️🧡❤️🧡❤️🧡
In the past I have been raising money by doing 🪂 skydive, half marathon and Amelie did 2 x Disability Triathlons and I just wanted to challenge myself again 💪.
Every pound raised will help in the fight against muscular dystrophy:
£10 will provide alert cards to people with muscle-wasting conditions which help during an emergency
£20 could ensure one hour of research towards finding effective treatments for muscle-wasting conditions
£40 can provide one day of helpline support to individuals and families
Best wishes
