Story
We are walking a half marathon on Saturday 28th October to help GOSH’s Children Cancer unit. It is our way of supporting a very special hospital close to our hearts, and in great need of support for building new breakthrough therapies.
Over the years, GOSH has and continues to provide the most wonderful care for our Myla and Isha across the Heart and Rheumatology units. However this time we would like to support children who battle cancer by helping build a new Children’s Cancer centre. How brave are they ? They deserve every chance in life.
Childhood and Cancer. Two words that should never go together.
But every week, around five children in the UK lose their lives to cancer. That’s five families who are faced with the worst news possible.
A child doesn't have to die from cancer for it to take their life. It can take away their childhood, their opportunities to learn and even to have children of their own one day.
Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) cares for children with the hardest to treat cancers. They are already pushing the boundaries. Pioneering research is underway to find the most effective treatments and cures, which give hope to children and their families.
But these advances have outstripped GOSHs current cancer care facilities, and the hospital needs a new home to create breakthrough therapies which will benefit children all over the world.
Help us build the new Childrens Cancer Centre at GOSH and save more childrens lives.
If you can help build it, you can help beat it.
