Story

I (Madeleine) am a WellChild nurse supporting children and young people with complex needs in the community.

WellChild Children's Nurses provide essential care and practical support to children and young people requiring long-term or complex care. They play a crucial role in enabling children to leave hospital and be cared for at home, reducing the practical, emotional and financial impact for families.

That brings me to how I came to drag my nearest and dearest into this adventure....

Me and Katie (my sister) ran the Brighton Marathon in 2015 and swore we would do London together one day, but I decided to have 3 babies in five years so couldn't handle it with the belly! Now, me and George are getting married next year, so I have decided to drag both him and the maid of honour along for the 26.2 mile ride in a bid to get fit, and raise money for all the children and young people who so deserve it. What's 26.2 miles between friends?! Cue, the couples/family arguments about who is more tired, who is longer/stronger/faster.....

Please support us by contributing anything that you can, nothing is too little. Follow our training journey and watch if George can stay true to his aim of leaving me and Katie behind because he thinks he is Speedy Gonzales ;)
