Story
Our ambulance staff and volunteers really go the extra mile to help us when we need them most. Please support me to go the extra mile for them by taking on the 'Outrun an Ambulance' challenge.
The South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) provides emergency and urgent care across 10,000 square miles, serving over 5.5 million residents and over 20 million visitors each year. SWASFT crews deal with around 2,500 incidents a day across the South West. Volunteer Community First Responders attend over 20,000 incidents a year, providing vital pre-ambulance care in their local communities.
The average mileage covered in a shift by a SWASFT ambulance is 78 miles. My mum and I will be taking on the challenge to cover a minimum of 78 miles through walking, jogging, cycling and swimming over the next 3 months.
After the sudden and unexpected loss of my wonderful step father, Mark, we want to raise money as a way of saying thank you for the outstanding care he received and for the compassion shown to our family by the SWASFT crew that attended that day.
Funds raised from the Outrun an Ambulance challenge will be used to enhanced staff facilities and well-being support, and to fund volunteer CFR Emergency Response Cars.
Thank you for your support.
