This year I am running my first marathon and helping to raise funds for The Big C, which is a local charity supporting people affected by cancer. The charity funds world-class local research, provides vital medical equipment and facilities in the county's main hospitals and educates local people about cancer for the future.

Wherever you are in the world, we have all been affected by cancer in some way. We all know survivors, and equally most of us have lost friends or loved ones to cancer. The care that they and their loved ones receive is vital in helping people to have the best quality of life for as long as possible.
