We fund research and provide support to improve blood cancer patients' lives

Story

In November 2020, I lost my partner Rory to Leukaemia at the age of 28. In Rory’s memory, I will be raising money for Blood Cancer UK by swimming 10km on Saturday 8th June.

Blood Cancer UK is a brilliant charity that Rory had planned to support and fundraise for. They were instrumental in providing information throughout Rory’s treatment as well as support to Rory and his loved ones.

Blood Cancer UK is a community dedicated to beating blood cancer. They do this by funding research and supporting those affected. Since 1960, they’ve invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. Right now, their community is funding 360 researchers and staff across the UK who are searching for the next breakthrough.

Rory used to love cycling to the lido for a Saturday morning dip. So, the challenge is: 10km in a 50m pool is 200 lengths and approximately 3.5 hours of continuous swimming!

Please donate, wish me luck, and pop on down to the lido. More details to follow nearer June 8th.

Thanks so much.

Mackie xx
