Story
An Ironman Triathlon is one of a series of long-distance triathlon races organized by the World Triathlon Corporation (WTC), consisting of a 2.4-mile (3.9 km) swim, a 112-mile (180.2 km) bicycle ride and a marathon 26.22-mile (42.2 km) run completed in that order, a total of 140.6 miles (226.3 km). It is widely considered one of the most difficult one-day sporting events in the world.
Rachel and I are tackling Ironman Barcelona on 1st October 2023.
After missing the cutoff halfway around the bike leg last year by 3 minutes, (5 hours 43 minutes, and cut off was 5 hours 40 minutes), we're back to take it on again!
We’ve chosen to support the British Heart Foundation, a charity that holds a special place in our hearts, and we are dedicating our efforts in memory of my Uncle Andrew, who probably would have called us stupid for taking this on, and even worse for messing up last year!
You can find a link to the tracker app here if you want to track us on the day and give virtual support.
