Story

For those of you who know Tom, you will be aware that for a few years now he has taken on a personal challenge every couple of years, with the support of his dad Gavin, in aid of the Born Free Foundation, as he has always had a passion for animal conservation and particularly big cats.

His latest challenge, starting on 1 August 2024, sees him attempt a world record challenge, running and cycling EQUAL distances each day from John O'Groats to Lands End, covering 1500km over 24 days. Once again with the unwavering on hand support of his dad Gavin.

His fund raising started in 2017 (8 YO) when he completed the Hadrian's Wall walk in just four days. This was followed in 2019 with climbing the three UK national peaks in three days (10 YO). Plans for 2021 were postponed due to the covid pandemic, but happily, Tom's fundraising continued in 2022, with him successfully reaching Everest Base Camp (13YO).

As always, Tom will be undertaking this years challenge in aid of the Born Free Foundation, however, this year he also wants to support Eden Valley Hospice in memory of Zoe Calway, who sadly passed in May 2024. It is hoped that he is able to raise equal amounts for both charities.

Regular updates on his progress will be posted here and via social media channels, as always your continues support, words of encouragement and donations are very much appreciated.
