Story

This May, Steve and I, along with Englebert are lacing up for Whirlybird Walkies in support of the Great North Air Ambulance Service! GNAAS relies entirely on public donations, with a staggering £25,200 needed each day to keep their lifesaving service in the air. Every day in May, we'll be hitting the trails, logging miles, and raising essential funds to keep those whirlybirds flying! We will be racking up at least 90 miles in the month of May.

The GNAAS is very close to our hearts. Our late Grandma Rob, used to love watching the air ambulance, when they were at their original base back in the 90's in Kitty Brewster, Bebside and would walk our dogs there daily to watch the crew and ambulance.

The air ambulance came to my brother's rescue in 2003 when he suffered a cardiac arrest after his horse suffered a fatal fall. If it wasn't for the air ambulance, transporting David to hospital, he wouldn't be with us now.

Just recently, Steve's dad, Raymond also suffered a cardiac arrest, whilst at the wheel. Thankfully some amazing passers by and the crew from the air ambulance got his heart started again and took him on his way to NSEC. He's now recovering well at home.

Please donate if you can, to this very worthy charity. We will of course post updates throughout May of Englebert's adventures. 😊🐶🐾
