Story
I have been for some considerable time and advocate for Calon Hearts - encouraging people to support them and arrange for heart screenings through their invaluable programme.
On 31st August 2022 my wonderful Dad suffered a Cardiac Arrest whilst out on a run to meet his friends. Due to some amazing people who were on hand to help and the close availability of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) he was one of the lucky ones and survived. Thankfully he is now fit, healthy and well.
Calon Hearts is a Charity that not only help with heart screening programmes - helping to identify many people with life-changing and life-limiting cardiac conditions, they also have a mission to ensure no one is further than 100 metres away from a fully working, publicly accessible defibrillator.
They work within the local communities in Wales helping to organise and fund the installation of AED in schools, adopted phone boxes and many other places where the public can access this life saving equipment.
Calon Hearts provide so much help, giving support to families, providing CPR training and continue to do all that they can to bring awareness to the importance of heart health!
I am of the view that a heart screening session is invaluable - a screening could detect a heart condition that would otherwise go undetected. No family should lose a loved one due to a heart condition and Calon hearts are doing everything in their power to ensure that this number continues to reduce.
I would be so grateful if you would please give a donation in support of me running my first ever marathon in the wonderful city of Amsterdam - for this wonderful charity and maybe even pop along to their website and book yourself in for a heart screening. https://www.calonhearts.org/
I will be posting updates on my training and further information on my Instragram page - https://www.instagram.com/therealmrsreddy/?hl=en
