Story

Hello! I'm excited to announce that I am taking part in the BHS Charity Race at Wetherby racecourse on 1st November 2024. I'm doing this to raise money for a very worthy charity that supports the welfare of horses and riders.

Why this matters to me: Last year, I participated in a charity race with no experience and I received such fantastic support from people and horses in the industry. This support inspired me to ride again to raise money for this worthy cause.

The challenge: I'll be honest - getting back on a racehorse hasn't been easy. Last year's race was the most challenging experience of my life, but I realised that if I didn't seize this opportunity now, while the memories of riding are still fresh, I might never do it again!

How you can help: Please sponsor me and share this page. Every contribution counts and goes directly to supporting horse and rider welfare. Your support can make a real difference.

Also, if you'd like to make a day of it and support in person, I'd love to see you there! You can get tickets directly from https://tickets.wetherbyracing.co.uk/sales/fixtures/friday-1st-november-2024---the/dining--hospitality/bhs-hospitality-marquee or let me know and we can arrange a table.

Thank you for considering supporting this cause.

The British Horse Society promotes and protects everything dear to you and your horse. For over 70 years, the BHS has been a strong equestrian voice. We will continue supporting horses and riders, and you can too.

Road Safety: Too many horses and riders are being killed or injured on UK roads. Over the past year there have been over 1,000 incident reports on our roads involving horses; 180 have been injured and 46 killed - but we know only one in ten incidents are reported. We are dedicated to improving the safety of UK riders.

Riding Out: We're dedicated to enhancing and maintaining the UKs equestrian access network. We defend endangered rights of way for riders and carriage drivers with multi-user routes across the UK being improved, preserved, and reinstated making a huge difference to the community.

Horse Welfare: The BHS responds to over 6,000 welfare cases each year, but there are a thousand more in need of help. We work hard to promote the prevention of neglect, cruelty and harm
