Story

On 27th April, I will be running the London Marathon in aid of Lymphoma Action. This will be my greatest challenge yet, and I could really do with all of your support. Thank you for your kindness now and always!

My Story:

In the Spring of 2021, I was diagnosed with Stage II Hodgkin Lymphoma, a type of blood cancer affecting just 400 15-24-year-olds each year, after finding a lump on my neck whilst getting ready for a night out.

I soon started seeing the specialists at the UCLH Teenage and Young Adult Cancer Unit and went on to have four rounds of chemotherapy, ending in the November of that year. I’d like to thank all of the consultants and nurses there who were so brilliant and caring towards both me and my family throughout. In December, after a full body scan, there was no evidence of cancer in my body—I was cancer-free! I am now over three years in remission.

Right from the start of my journey, Lymphoma Action was a source of trusted information and positivity. For this reason we have been fundraising for the charity since my diagnosis, hosting annual events, daring to skydive from 12,000 feet with my mates Joe and Ollie, and with my mum running the London Marathon in 2022.

Amazingly, thanks to everyone's overwhelming generosity and kindness, we have managed to raise nearly £24,000 so far! I will always be grateful for everyone who has supported our fundraising and left so many lovely messages, which really helped to spur me on throughout my treatment and beyond.

Here are some examples of how the money raised can help this great charity:

•£2.50 could cover the costs to get our information to someone who has just been diagnosed with lymphoma.

•£6 could give one person access to lymphoma-specific clinical trials information.

•£25 could allow 10 people to access information and support through our online podcasts, videos, and webinars.

•£42 could allow someone to attend online support meetings, spending time with others affected by lymphoma.

•£55 could provide 22 people with vital information through our specialist lymphoma booklets.

•£102 could enable us to more fully support three people who have been diagnosed to prepare for treatment.

•£250 could cover the cost for 10 people to receive vital emotional support and information from our specialist Helpline Team.

•£355 could pay for one person to access essential self-management and support information through a Live Your Life course.
