Story
Lydia is cutting her hair and raising money to support homelessness charity Emmaus Mossley and children’s charity Little Princess Trust.
Lydia is almost 12 years old and has been visiting Emmaus every week since she was just 18 months old. Lydia has decided to cut her hair for charity and donate it to Little Princess Trust and raise as much money as possible for both Little Princess Trust and Emmaus Mossley.
Emmaus holds a special place in the hearts of Lydia and our family. It is our favourite place to visit because of its lovely friendly community spirit. We have gained many friends from the Emmaus community and it is also the place where Lydia’s Mum met her Stepdad Dave who used to be a companion at Emmaus.
Emmaus Mossley supports people who have experienced homelessness by providing them with a home, companionship, tailored support and work opportunities. While at Emmaus, people are given the opportunity for a fresh start, gaining skills and work experience alongside training and personal development.
The Little Princess Trust provides free real hair wigs to children and young people, up to 24 years, who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other conditions. The Little Princess Trust also fund childhood cancer research searching to find kinder and more effective treatments.
Lydia would like to split the funds raised equally between the two charities. Emmaus Mossley will transfer 50% of the donations from this fundraising page to Little Princess Trust. Any donation you can spare would be much appreciated by Lydia, our family and the two charities.
Please note that if your Gift Aid your donation, the additional funds, on top of your donation, will go to Emmaus Mossley.
