Story
We sadly lost dad to the most aggressive form of brain cancer in 2021, this disease devastated all of us but most Barry. He lost the ability to walk properly, didn't recognise us on many occasions, and became completely dependent on us (anyone who knew him would know how hard this would have been for him), however he never lost his sense of humour and fought the disease which the most inspiring bravery.
Due to dad passing away during lockdown, we were not able to give him the send off he deserved so on January 12th 2024 we are holding a celebration of his life (it would be the day after his birthday) whilst raising money for the disease. Lorna and i have now raised just over £7400 which funds 2 days of research and are very close to a 3rd where we will be visiting the brain tumour research lab in London and placing a tile on their 'wall of hope' in Dads memory.
We have been blown away by peoples support and donations and people have said how sad they are to not be able to attend the event for various reasons so we have decided to create this just giving page so that anyone who is unable to go can still donate and will be put forward for the raffle if you wish so (please let me know).
Myself, Lorna and Mum Jacqui would like to express our deepest gratitude for everyones support over the last couple of years.
Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer… yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease. This is unacceptable!
