Welcome, I'm Lydia and here is my Marathon journey: 3 races and one huge mission to raise as much money for Breast Cancer now as I possibly can.

I'll be running 2 half marathons and a marathon + a lot of smaller races along the way! Racing over 2 marathon distances and many more training miles to get there!!

Every 10 minutes, someone hears the words “you have breast cancer”.

My mum was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in 2021 - she had incredible care & is now in remission. It was a long journey of surgeries, chemotherapy & radiotherapy - with the effects of the treatments changing her life forever. Even after all that the threat of cancer returning haunts cancer survivors - research is needed to save lives & give that peace of mind to enjoy life.

Over 55,000 people are diagnosed every year in the UK alone. Early detection and treatment are crucial, as survival rates improve significantly when cancer is caught early.

In June 2024, I ran my first ever 5k race for life. It was a huge challenge for me at the time, and it was something I wanted to do to support my mum. One 5k done...Naturally, I wanted to take on bigger challenges.

So why run one race when I can run lots 😂 I’m taking on the London Landmarks Half Marathon, the Great North Run, and to finish close to home the Yorkshire Marathon. London. Newcastle. York. These races represent the steps toward the ultimate personal marathon challenge. Marking my journey from 5K to completing my first marathon in just over a year.

You'll be there every step of the way. For the blisters and the carb-loading! For the PBs and new victories. As well as the struggle runs, the hills and the pain!
