Story
For this year's #LBDI week, I will be walking 27 miles with the aim of raising awareness of the 27% of people in London who live below the poverty line (Source: Trust for London).
I would be incredibly grateful if you are able to donate to contribute to the efforts the Junior League of London makes to support those living below the poverty line. My goal is to raise £270 pounds (£10 per mile walked).
○ £3 could purchase supplies for amenity kits for homeless Londoners
○ £5 could provide a book for an inner-London school library
○ £10 could provide supporting materials for our English language workshops for female refugees and asylum seekers
○ £25 could provide a family meal and £75 could provide an entire hamper full of food, books, gifts and essentials for a family struggling during the holidays
○ £100 could fund phone chargers, basic phones and Oyster cards for homeless emergency kits
Celebrating our 11th year of this initiative, we are kicking off our campaign to combat the effects of poverty in London through the Little Black Dress Initiative (#LBDI) campaign with the Junior League of London.
Joining together October 16-20, we are raising awareness about the realities of poverty in our local community and funds to help make a real impact for people in London.
Donations to the Little Black Dress Initiative support the Junior League of London in our mission to advance women's leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training.
Your donations directly benefit local community partners and support the League's outreach and volunteer training programs. So thank you for helping us continue our impact in London!
