Story
We are thrilled to announce that four brave employees from Lupa Foods are taking to the skies in an exhilarating skydiving challenge, all in support of Herts Young Homeless, a UK-based charity dedicated to helping young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
On 10 July 2024, they were supposed to be jumping from 15,000 feet to raise £1580 for this incredibly important cause. Due to high winds this was postponed until Wednesday 14th August. However, every cloud has a silver lining, this gives our team another whole month to raise more funds with the initial target already well beaten!
Why are they doing it? Here's their motivation for taking the leap (from left to right)!
Lana (Cost Analyst):
I am taking part in a 15,000 ft tandem skydive to raise money for HYH along with the other crazy girls from Lupa, I’ve chosen to take part in the skydive because the last time I jumped out of a plane I threw up in the sky! So I need to redeem myself and what better way to do it than for an amazing charity such as HYH!
Hannah (Commercial Manager):
I’m really looking forward to raising some money for such a good cause. I’m sure the fear and unknown of jumping out of a plane will be nothing compared to what the young people that HYH help, face. Every contribution, big or small, brings us closer to reaching new heights and our fundraising goal, so thank you for your kind donations.
Sonali (Technical Manager):
I am gearing up to free-fall through the sky, all in the name of supporting HYH, who are the real superheroes dedicated to providing essential services to vulnerable individuals facing homelessness. Who knew skydiving could be the cure for fear and the cure for homelessness? Let's hope my parachute opens and opens some wallets for this fantastic cause!
Claire (Technical Director):
The thought of doing a skydive absolutely petrifies me! But HYH have shared with us some truly inspirational stories of the work they do and the young people they help in our community and I want to be able support them to be able to continue their great work. 60 seconds of me being terrified jumping out a plane, is nothing compared to what some of the young people they help go through.
Herts Young Homeless provides essential services such as emergency accommodation, support for mental health, and life skills training to empower young people and prevent homelessness.
We believe that everyone deserves a safe place to call home, and we are committed to making a difference in our community. This is where we need your help. Your generous donations will not only encourage our team to take the leap but will also provide vital funds to support the ongoing work of Herts Young Homeless.
Every donation, big or small, will make a significant impact. Together, we can help change lives and give hope to those in need. Please support our skydiving challenge by donating and sharing our Just Giving page with your networks.
