Story
For My Mum ❤️
On Wednesday the 1st of May 2024 my Mum was diagnosed with terminal stomach cancer. This news was the biggest shock for me and my family, a piece of news that I don’t think I will ever fully process. From my Mum being a fit and healthy runner, to being hospitalised in a matter of weeks, this was difficult for everyone to come to terms with.
On Sunday the 6th of October 2024, I am taking part in the Glasgow Half Marathon. I am running this for not only my Mum, but for Macmillan Cancer Support. The Macmillan team have been there from the beginning and have been the biggest support and care for the whole family. From the ongoing care for my Mum, to the support and comfort for myself and my family. They really don’t get enough recognition.
My Mum ran the Glasgow Half Marathon in 2015 in support of my Papa who was also diagnosed with cancer. I would like to follow in my Mum’s footsteps and also raise money to thank such an amazing charity in the process.
Any donations are greatly appreciated. A little goes a long way in support for those affected by cancer ❤️
Thanks for supporting my fundraising. Macmillan gives people with cancer everything they’ve got. If you’re diagnosed, your worries are Macmillan’s worries. Macmillan’s doing whatever it takes. But without your help, Macmillan can’t support everyone who needs them.
