Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Yes I know another request for charity donations from the Groves Brothers 😂

I am well aware over the last 12 months between me and my brother we have requested donations on multiple occasions however I won’t apologise for that, it is something that we both feel the little we do could make the biggest difference, both me and dale have taken on challenges that put both of us out of our comfort zone, from Dale running marathons to me getting in a boxing ring and getting punched repeatedly for weeks on end in training and then having a 3 round boxing bout. Dale supports Children with Cancer charity, and for obvious reasons I choose to raise money for The Fire Fighters Charity, for me just having them on the end of the phone when things got rough a couple of years ago was a saviour, the work they do for past and current Firefighter families is outstanding from injury rehabilitation, terminal illness support to mental health support.

This year I have chosen to enter The 10YFan challenge. That’s right I will be taken part in an organised event to scale Pen-Y-Fan 10 times in 24 hours 😳

Pen Y Fan is 2,907 ft and Everest is 29,029 feet, so you could say that if I completed 10YFan, it is the equivalent of climbing Everest ….. sounds tenuous maybe, but it just shows the enormity of achieving the full ten climbs. I don’t need oxygen, snow boots or a tent though, just a determination to complete as many climbs as I can in 24 hours. I’ve attached a short documentary about the Challenge it’s self please take a look and every penny counts.

This is going to be no easy task. So I would really appreciate any support you can give to keep me going and determined to make the 10 climbs.

Thank you soo much for taking the time to read my story.

All the Love Luke.
