Story
On the 14th of February we lost our wonderful friend to breast cancer. Widge was the kindest, most compassionate, patient and warm person you could meet. She loved spontaneous walks in the woods, trips to the sea, bbqs and gatherings slung together at a moment's notice. She loved her friends, her kids, our kids, and was the least judgemental and most open minded person I've ever known. A woman of immense integrity, courage and intelligence, she had so much to give and her loss is immeasurable.
I'm joining friends from her local village who are walking 15 miles of the clarendon way in her memory to raise money for the Winchester hospice, where she spent the last months of her life.
Winchester Hospice provides specialist palliative and end of life care to adults with life-limiting illness living in Winchester and the surrounding villages. It is a place of compassion, understanding, warmth and support at the most difficult time – a place where skilled staff are caring not only for patients, but their families, friends, carers and children too.
With your support, we can help to ensure that Winchester Hospice is there for the people of Winchester both now and for years to come.
Thank you!
