Heidi's fundraiser for Dementia UK

Heidi's Multiple cycling challenges · 1 April 2023
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As some of you know, Heidi's grandad (my dad) was diagnosed with advanced vascular dementia last year. He is now being cared for in a specialist dementia care home in Wotton under Edge.
Heidi, who is just 10 years of age, wanted to do something to raise money for Dementia UK and she has decided to do a series of cycle rides with her dad (Richard) and her big sister Daisy. For their first outing, they cycled to York and back (from Riccall), covering a distance of more than 30 miles - quite a distance for a 10 year old!
Heidi has also followed this up with another bike ride which took place during the Easter holidays, where she cycled from her home in Knottingley to her school in Saxton, and back again (stopping for a well deserved lemonade at a lovely country pub on the way back)! That ride was a distance of 24 miles.
In addition to the above rides, she is hoping to conclude her fundraising with a final 12 mile bike ride on the 10th July to support a coffee morning that her school are organising, to also raise funds for Dementia UK. For this final bike ride, she will be joined by her littler sister Phoebe (who is 6 and will be riding a tandem with Heidi's mum, Lucy, her big sister Daisy and her uncle Adam).
That takes her total bike riding miles to approx 66 miles!
Unfortunately the girls dad, Richard, can't take part this time as he's had to have an operation to remove his appendix but he will be providing a (hopefully not needed) puncture repair service en route in case of any mishaps on our way!
Heidi and her extended family would be really grateful for any donations, no matter how small, so that she can raise vital funds for Dementia UK.
When we first started all this, we had deliberately set the target for fundraising at a manageable £50 to hopefully make this an achievable target for her, given her age......but I have to say, we've been truly humbled by the generosity and support of people and this target has been blown out of the water. I've re-adjusted this target now so that we can try and hit the £600 mark which is waaaay more than we ever thought was possible! Thank you so much in advance for your kindness and generosity.
