Story
Hi!
My name is Lucy Stewart, I am 12 years old. I would like to raise £1000 for The ARCHIE Foundation as i spend alot of time in hospital and want to give something back and help other children and families. I had hoped to raise £100 a month but have been unwell and with how the world has been then it hasn't really worked out! So hoping to raise a little bit of money with this event. Look out for details on how you could help! Even a share of my page would be amazing to get it out there! I can't wait! Here is a little background about me. 🙂I was born with a rare condition called Tracheo-oesphageal Fistula and Oesophageal Atresia or TOF/OA for short. What it means is that my food pipe wasnt connected to my tummy and my wind pipe was connected to my food pipe, confusing, i know! I had a big operation to correct the connections when i was 1 day old! Although everthing was put back to the way it should be my wind pipe was very floppy and sometimes i would scare my family but stopping breathing because of it. Also my food pipe doesnt really work very good and where they joined it together gets very narrow so food gets stuck and i cant swallow anything, which isnt good! Because i was always unwell and had swine flu, pnemonia lots of times, chest infections, collapsed lung and othet not so nice infections then i have chronic lung damage(Bronchiecstasis) and also a gastrostomy button in as i cant burp or be sick thanks to another operation i had to get. My bowel also doesnt always work how it should and causes me alot of pain. I do lots of medicine including my nebuliser and chest physio to keep me well, but it doesnt always work. I spend and have spent sooo much time in hospital. The ARCHIE Foundation made these times so much easier for me and my family. They had play staff and different entertainers in the ward, gave my family accomodation so they could be close to me, helped cheer me up when i was sad and decorated the wards in happy way. Thats why i am fundraising for them. I would like to help them help other poorly children and families.
