My wonderful Dad was diagnosed with incurable Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Cancer in 2018 which has now spread to his liver. He has successfully undergone two huge life-extending operations at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham as well as a range of further treatments and is now battling his way through chemotherapy.
To me, my Dad is my hero. To me, he is the strongest man to set foot on Earth. He possesses a type of bravery and resilience that I did not know existed. He is positive, fierce and most of all has a heart made entirely of gold. He listens, he never judges and he stands up for what is right. I count myself unbelievably lucky that I get to do life right by his side. Dad has relentlessly held the world up over our family’s heads even on the days he probably felt it crashing down around him.
Music has really helped me & Dad get through the last few difficult years - from jamming on our guitars together on a Saturday night, to blasting country music in the car, going to concerts together and him being front row at every single one of my performances. It felt right that I therefore perform a headline show dedicated to him and with all ticket money going to Neuroendocrine Cancer UK which supports people just like my incredible Pops.
This one's for him & all the other amazing fighters who refuse to give up. It's also for the outstanding Neuroendocrine Cancer UK team who have supported my Dad and us as a family (Mum - Sue & my two big Sisters - Zoe & Lauren) through the most difficult years of our lives.
Any money raised will go towards further vital research and raising awareness for this rare type of cancer because I’m absolutely certain that one day - we will find a cure.
To anyone able to make the gig at Joe Joe Jim’s (Birmingham) on Saturday 22nd Feb 2025, we look forward to seeing you. Tickets are £10 on the door. Those unable to make it but wanting to donate here - thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
"I didn't believe in superheroes, but your hospital gown looked more like a cape"
Thank you so much from all the family for any donation you are able to leave. Every penny counts!
