Story
On the 9th of November 2021, the world devastatingly lost the beautiful Lucy West to suicide. In honour and memory of Lucy, I will be running The Big Half on the 3rd September 2023.
I will be raising money for the charity PAPYRUS, the national Charity for the Prevention of Young Suicide, who are working on promoting positive mental health. PAPYRUS provides confidential support and advice to young people struggling with thoughts of suicide, and anyone worried about a young person through their helpline, HOPELINEUK. Suicide is the biggest killer of young people under the age of 35 in the UK. Lucy took her own life at such a young age, just 17 years old, and I want to help as much as I can by raising money to help others who may be feeling the same way Lucy was.
Lucy was the most talented person I know, and running was just one of her many talents. I want to do this and make her proud by completing this run.
The Big Half follows a 13.1 mile closed-road course, starting by London's iconic Tower Bridge and finishing at Cutty Sark in Greenwich.
Any donations would be going to a good cause and would be highly appreciated. All donations will be going to PAPYRUS.
Thank you x
