Lucy and Nic Run in memory of Jan š¤

Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon 2024 Ā· 12 May 2024 Ā·
After a brave battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis for a number of years, my incredible mum Jan passed away in February 2021 aged 65.
She was an absolute force of nature, an incredible wife and mother and a loyal and loving friend. She has left a huge hole in all of our lives, so much so that it has taken until now for us to decide on a challenge that would feel big enough to commemorate her.
Now donāt get me wrong, Nicola and I have done the Great North Run however this was a whole decade ago, and collectively weāve given birth to four children since then! This is our first Marathon and is a huge challenge for us both, the training is tough and we are under no illusions about the size of the task ahead.
Therefore please dig deep into your pockets and donate whatever you can to help us smash our target and raise all important funds and awareness in memory of mum.
Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a rare and poorly understood lung condition where the lungs become progressively stiffer and smaller, eventually leading to low oxygen levels in the blood and extreme difficulty breathing. The word āidiopathicā means the cause is unknown, and the reasons why someone develops IPF are not well understood. There is currently no cure for IPF.
Anything we can raise we hope will fund research for the charity and aid the fight against further suffering from this devastating disease.
