Story
So I have somehow managed to get into the London Marathon this year, it’s always been on my bucket list before I hit 40 (so I've just made it in time)
If I’m honest I didn’t think I’d get a place entering on a whim but here we are…I’ll be running it with extra motivation for my beautiful Mum, although she never wanted me to do anything like this with my dodgy knees and hips, I’m taking this as her blessing to do it. I’m not expecting to do it in any record breaking time, I just want to get round in one piece.
There are so many amazing charities out there it was hard to choose just the one, but I have chosen to donate to The Butterfly Volunteers at East and North Herts Hospital one close to my heart. Sometimes these charity’s get lost amongst the bigger ones. If you would like to donate please click the link.
Butterfly volunteers provide companionship for end-of- life patients, without the Butterfly project 15-20 patients were dying alone at the Lister each month, as well as patients being alone when waiting for relatives to arrive.
In order to keep the project running the charity must raise £25,000 each year, to provide appropriate management and support for their 30 volunteers.
Help me fundraise to support the charity so they can continue to provide this invaluable service.
