Story

I have always wanted to run the marathon, but this year, more than ever, I have found the most worthy cause that pushed me to apply.

The Sick Children’s Trust provides somewhere for families to stay near their seriously ill child’s hospital bedside. I came across the charity when our close friends' baby, Harry, was born prematurely and spent 4 months in NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) between Whipps and Royal London. The charity provided a home from home for Mollie and Josh to ensure they could be with Harry within minutes, making their lives that little bit easier. Harry is thriving and we are so proud!

Later in the year, on the 8th of August, my sister gave birth prematurely to my beautiful niece Felicity. Felicity spent her short life in two hospitals, St George’s and Addenbrookes. This amazing charity was needed again! We sadly said goodbye to her in September. Felicity, our angel, you are dearly loved, forever and always.

SCT has helped my sister, brother-in-law, and friends and over 73,000 families since 1982. If you can help them continue doing the fantastic job they do and donate, even a small amount, it would be very appreciated.

This one is for you..

About the charity

The Sick Children’s Trust is the charity that gives families with a seriously ill child in hospital a comfortable place to stay and a friendly ear to listen in one of our ten ‘Homes from Home’. By providing families with somewhere to stay near their child they have one less thing to worry about.
