This year I am taking on the AJ Bell junior run in Birmingham once again. I have decided to fundrais for NICE this year. NICE are a charity which offer support to children and adults with mobility disorders. Based in Moseley and Birmingham they work with people with conditions such as cerabal palsy, Parkinson’s, MS, stroke victims and Down syndrome on a national level. Not only do they provide services to help support these individuals with their mobility needs they also provide appropriate training to other professionals enabling them to better support people with these conditions.

My cousin Pippa has benefited massively from NICE’s input. She has been able to attend fortnightly sessions with a lady called Erica who works with Pippa on her gross and fine motor mobility. If it wasn’t for the work NICE have done with Pippa it would have taken her a lot longer to meet milestones such as feeding herself, crawling and walking - all of these things are important as they help give Pippa her independence.

I am hoping to raise money for them this year to help to continue to support the good work they do and hopefully lots of other children will be able to benefit from their specialist support in the future.
