Story
This Sunday I will be running the Cardiff Half Marathon in Memory of Richard Davies. In May, Richard was diagnosed with Stomach Cancer and sadly passed away 8 weeks later. He was only 41 and a much loved member of our family. Rich deteriorated quickly after diagnosis but was able to stay at home with the support of St David's Hospice, who provide community palliative care. Their nurses would visit Rich several times a week making sure his symptoms were under control and tried to keep him as comfortable as possible. They respected all of the decisions he made regarding his own care. They made sure he could have his wish to remain at home and put all the provisions in place, so he could do so comfortably. They nursed him right up until his last breath. If anyone would like to support this amazing charity I have a set up a just giving page so others like Rich can have the same support.
