Story
Some of you may or may not know but running the London Marathon has always been on my bucket list…I’m not sure why, I HATE Running!! However, in July 2023 I received an email to say I was in!!! Eeeeek!
Training is hard - juggling life as a mum, work and Luke’s shifts means every week in our house is different. Ive made it work and training is going well, if a little exhausting!
I was lucky enough to get a ballot place but I’m not running 26.2 miles for fun (who does that!) so will be raising money for The National Autistic Society (NAS) for my super star brother in law, Leo. Our world was turned upside down in December when Luke’s dad sadly passed away very unexpectedly. Leo likes to have a set routine so when John was in hospital this was a huge adjustment for him. Having the consistency of his day centre helped keep life as normal as possible for him. Leo attends a centre which is run through the Surrey National Autistic Society and any funds I raise will go to them so Leo and his friends will benefit.
I can’t write this post without mentioning a few people.
Firstly starting with my dad. Its his fault im in this situation!! He ran the marathon in 2009 (Im sure many of you have heard the story!), he is my inspiration & one of my biggest cheerleaders! Full of advice, words of encouragement and supporting me along the way.
Big shout out to my mum & mother in law for chief babysitting duty! When Luke’s at work they've stepped in to have the boys. It really is a team effort to get me over that finish line so it’s massively appreciated.
Finally, the biggest thanks goes to my amazing husband, Luke. He is putting up with me having to organise our whole life around my “long runs”, the constant talk of running and listening to me moan about my aches & pains! He keeps encouraging me when i doubt myself!! Without you & your support I couldn’t do it! See you on the finish line when you can carry me home!! x
Any donations would be massively appreciated.
Im not fast but im faster than you lot sitting on the sofa!! 🤣
