Excited to Be the Running Postie for Rickmansworth
I’m excited to share that from December 2nd, I’ll be delivering post around Rickmansworth—on the run! This unique collaboration with Royal Mail and the Paul Strickland Scanner Centre combines my love for running with the opportunity to support a cause that’s deeply personal to me.
This initiative is in loving memory of my dear friend Julia Bell, who sadly passed away from cancer. Julia always said the scanners at the Paul Strickland Scanner Centre gave her an additional seven precious years with her family, allowing her to meet and spend time with her young grandson, Diego. Her legacy inspires me to give back to the center that meant so much to her.
Royal Mail has generously agreed to donate my wages for the week to the Paul Strickland Scanner Centre, and my company founded in Ricky, NumberMill Accounting Ltd, will match this donation. I’m grateful for their kindness and collaboration, as well as for the unwavering support from Paul Strickland Scanners themselves in making this happen.
The preparation has been both exciting and thorough, including Royal Mail’s excellent induction process, compliance training, and DBS checks. I’m grateful to everyone who’s helped me through the journey so far, and I’m looking forward to getting out on the streets with my delivery bag in hand.
A special thanks also goes to my running club, the Ricky Running Sisters. Their encouragement and training over the years have been instrumental in building my confidence and stamina for challenges like this.
If you spot me running through Rickmansworth, do give me a wave (or hope for dry weather with me!) and, if you can, please consider donating via my Just Giving Page . Every contribution helps support the life-changing work of the Paul Strickland Scanner Centre.
Thank you to Royal Mail, the Paul Strickland Scanner Centre, and everyone who’s helping make this initiative possible. Together, we’re making strides toward a better future.
