Story

As many close friends and family are aware, 8 years ago I entered a domestic violent relationship which took over my life, living through the terror and torture for 3 years before ending in prosecution.

Thankfully I had the most incredible friends and family who were there to support me and help me through every step financially and mentally.

Unfortunately, this isn't the case for most women and children in domestic violent relationships, where they are isolated and can't see a way out.

No woman or child should ever have to live in fear.

One in four women will experience domestic abuse at some point in their lifetime and on average one woman is killed every 5 days in England and Wales by a current or former partner.

Refuge is the largest single provider of specialist services to survivors of domestic, sexual and gender-based abuse and runs the freephone, 24-hour National Domestic Abuse Helpline that provides the first step to women escaping abuse.

Amy and I will be running 56k throughout February to raise money towards this amazing charity and by sponsoring us today, you are helping to save and change the lives of thousands of women and their children. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! ❤️
