Story
I was due to Run the London Marathon in 2023, however, a life changing event meant that i was unable to, my daughter 'Mia Moo' passed away 21 January 2023 after suffering a cardiac event, Mia was just 19 years old.
MIa was a kind and caring person who always wanted to give her best and help others. Her beautiful smile lit up every room she was in, and she made a positive impression on everyone she met.
I am now running the 2024 Marathon in her memory. With your donation, CRY can reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young.
Every week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions.
I'm hoping to help 14-35 year olds to be screened, so far with the help and support of family, Mia's work family, friends, businesses, and the community 6 days of screening have be funded this year and 4 more days booked for next year.
Screening costs approx. £6500 per day, for a 100 people, therefore £65 per person.
By supporting CRY you will help save young lives from these potentially fatal cardiac conditions.
