Story

I am raising money for Katharine House Hospice after my Grampy, Bill, died there peacefully earlier this year. It came to the point where we were struggling to keep Grampy comfortable at home, and he was admitted to the hospice as a result. Being at Katharine House meant that myself and my family could spend quality time together with Grampy in his last weeks and days of life. This was especially important to my Grandma, who had been struggling with the burden of providing care, and was able to be a wife again before Grampy died.

I work at Katharine House, and therefore I already know how incredible, caring, and dedicated all the staff there are. However, having a relative admitted there really brought home to me the importance of the hospice and the specialist service it provides. This is why I have chosen to complete this fundraising challenge.
