Hi, I'm Lou. I am 32 years old and am starting my training journey to run the Manchester MARATHON (26.2M) Sunday 27th April 2025, to raise as much money as possible to THE CHRISTIE CHARITY.

Whilst I was on my own Cancer journey in 2021/2 at being diagnosed with Breast Cancer at age 29, SO many people dug deap and donated for me and my now Husband to have the wedding and honeymoon of our dreams! We were absolutely blown away by people's kindness and generosity! We will always be forever thankful & grateful. (Emotional just writing that!)

I now want to give a little back by taking part in training and running the Manchester Marathon. In my head, I am still telling myself this is impossible, I've never run more than my recent half marathon, and that was an absolute struggle from mile 10. I'll need to fit in training whilst working, being a Mum to our two children, running a house, on top of suffering the long term affects of chemo & my cancer preventative meds I still currently take. But the thing is, I am SO lucky that I get to do that. Because there are far too many people who don't get the same opportunity as me and get to hear the words "YOUR CANCER HAS ALL GONE." Christies support people living with cancer in so many ways, and every bit of money raised goes towards providing that help.
