Story
Thanks for visiting my page.
I successfully completed the 10 in 10 in 2022. It was a fantastic experience and I met some amazing people who have become friends for life. Running 10 marathons is a massive commitment, the impact is mental as well as physical and it takes time to recover afterwards. I will turn 60 during 2025 (eek - how did that happen?) and what better way to celebrate 60 years on the planet than by running another 10 marathons and raising funds for this superb charity. My last 10 in 10 set me off on a journey to try and run 100 marathons. If all goes to plan I will reach the magic number on day 4 of the 10.
The Brathay Trust does crucial work to support and develop young people who desperately need it. They do this at various projects across the North of England and at their residential centre in Ambleside. For many young people it provides a lifeline that helps them develop crucial life skills to enable them to be their best. My two eldest grandchildren had a very difficult start in life owing to various issues and I think of them and their achievements when the going gets tough. They were fortunate to have an extended family to provide the support that they needed and they are wonderful successful young adults. Not all young people are this fortunate and all young people deserve help and support to be their best - they are the future.
Please support me and the Brathay Trust if you are able.
Our charitable work is underpinned by enterprising fundraising and our supporters’ commitment. We know that, enthused by the belief in the transformational power of people working together, you can help us make a positive difference. Work with us to transform the lives of young people.
There are so many ways to help and discover the Brathay effect that is at the heart of everything we do.
