Story
I'm taking on the National Three Peaks Challenge in memory of Gaz Emmerson. Gaz was an incredible guy who inspired so many like myself to keep being positive even through the hardest of times. This attitude will definitely be needed when I'm trekking in the middle of the night!
By taking on this challenge, I’m supporting Sarcoma UK, a brilliant charity that makes such a difference to so many people. Not many people have heard of sarcoma, in fact 75% of the population don't know what it is. This needs to change. Sarcoma is a type of cancer that develops in the bone and soft tissue. It is difficult to diagnose and one of the hardest to treat. Most sarcomas are diagnosed when they are a size of a can of baked beans, meaning they are often caught too late. Sarcoma UK is here to help. They are a national charity that funds vital research, offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments.
On September 2nd 2023 at 4am, I'll be starting my 'Three Peaks for Gaz' challenge - an event that will see me trekking up Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon - all within 24 hours! It's going to be tough but I'm determined to do it for Gaz and everyone else affected by sarcoma cancer.
By supporting me, we can help change this. Your donation will help researchers find answers, keep our Support Line open, and raise awareness to improve treatment and standards of care. Every penny counts towards reaching my target goal of £200 which will make such a difference! Thank you for your support.
