Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My brother Mark was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma Cancer in 2022. He heroically battled through treatment over the last 9 months and I'm pleased to say he is currently cancer free and living life to the full.
Although I am a runner (in the loosest of terms!) a marathon is something I've always said I would never do!! This changed after watching Mark fight cancer and knowing he continues to fight this battle. Knowing there is nothing I can physically do to make him magically better, I can do this! So if by me taking part in the marathon can help raise money to support The Irish Cancer Society then Im all in.
On Sunday, 21st April 2024 I will be running the TCS London Marathon and as part of that, I am raising money to help support cancer patients and their families.
Cancer is the most common cause of death in Ireland with more than 9,000 people in Ireland dying each year. That's almost 25 people dying from cancer every day across Ireland. An average of 1 person every hour.
Please donate any amount you think you are able, it is a great cause.I know there are so many great causes out there though, so if you are not able to donate then please give your loved ones an extra big hug or a call to check in on them. You never know how or when things may change.
Much Love
