Hello everyone, we’ve created this Just Giving page in memory of our good friend James Dixon (Dicko) who sadly passed away earlier this year.

From the 18th - 20th April 2023, we’ll be taking on the toughest physical challenge of our lives, in the memory of our boy! We’ll be running 4 miles, every 4 hours, for 48 hours. In doing so, we’re hoping to raise some money for charity, and give it a proper go, just as Dicko would have wanted!

The charities we’ve chosen are Leicester Animal Aid and Derby, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance. We think these are two very worthy charities and we know Dicko would have approved of them! We have had to create a separate JustGiving page for each charity, so please choose which charity you would like to donate to. If possible we are trying to keep the donations between the two charities as even as possible!

We have chosen to do this running challenge in Dicko’s memory as about a month before he passed away, he suggested doing this with all of us. Dicko told us it had been created by ex-navy seal/ultra marathon runner, David Goggins, who he absolutely loved! Needless to say, it didn’t take any of us long before we told Dicko (not so politely) where to shove his idea given that we’d probably not ran 4 miles between us in the last year!

During the challenge we will all be running 4 miles, every 4 hours for 48 hours, meaning we’ll have each ran just under 2 marathons in 2 days. It equates to 12 four mile runs each, which are done through the day and night. Watching a few YouTube videos on the challenge should have probably been enough to put us off, but it feels like the right thing to do in Dicko’s memory. We’d absolutely love for as many people to get behind us as possible, and raise some money for these two very good causes which we know Dicko would have approved of!
