Louis 's fundraiser for Sue Ryder

As many of you may be aware, in 2019 I lost my Dad very suddenly to cancer. He was only 49 and a very fit and active person. Unfortunately, despite his good health before his diagnosis, he was informed that his brain tumour was inoperable and he sadly only lived for just under 4 weeks after his diagnosis. It was during this 4 week period that my family met the amazing staff working for Sue Ryder and the Leckhampton hospice palliative care team.
From our first meeting with the team, up until my Dad passing, the Sue Ryder team were amazing. The care they showed towards my Dad during what I can only imagine was the scariest and loneliest time of his life was incredible. My Dad sadly lost his speech during his short battle and whilst this made things even more challenging for the staff when they came to care for him, they took this in their stride and found alternative ways to communicate with him, putting everyone at ease.
Whilst Sue Ryder is a household name when thinking of charities, I think the varied and invaluable support that the charity offers is often unknow. The reality is, until you or a close family member are in a position to need the care and support of the Sue Ryder team, you cant appreciate the level of support they provide.
I have been chosen to run the London Marathon in 2025 for the Sue Ryder and Leckhampton hospice team in memory of my Dad and hope to raise as much money as possible in order to help such an amazing charity continue to help more families going through the unthinkable.
Any donations you are able to make will help me massively in reaching my target.
